Where can i get some edible beads for cake decorating?
Hello,
Well i want to get some
edible beads for cake decorating.???
i am going to make a cake for my cousin
and she wants beads and everything.
I do not want to spend alot of money online
because i do not have a credit card or prepaid card to get anything
online.!
so where should i get some??:
walmart
joanns
michaels?
i also need gum paste ?
can u help mE?

You can use fondant to make edible beads, but they'll be fairly hard if left out to dry. I usually use a marshmallow fondant recipe. You can search for one at allrecipes.com
You can also use modeling chocolate.
The best way to make them if you're hand-rolling them is to roll out your dough (either fondant or modeling chocolate) to a uniform thickness, then use the wrong-end of a cake decorating tip to cut out little round circles, then hand roll them into little balls. If you want them to be colored, add color to the fondant as you mix it. If you want them to be shiny like pearls, you'll have to look for luster dust to brush over them. You may be able to find luster dust locally, depending upon the city you live in. Google "cake decorating supplies" along with the city you live in. I don't think they have it at Walmart, but you could look there or at a local craft supplies store like Michaels. If all of that doesn't work, go to a bakery near you (a nice one, not the grocery one) and ask if they'll sell you some luster dust.
