the dress would be strapless and at knee lenght.i wanted everyone to wear elbow long gloves but not sure if it would look good..someone please help me!

I would be guided by the person making the dress or check out for matching colour gloves if you are purchasing the dress. If it looks right and feels right then it is probably fine. Be guided by your aunt who would naturally want everyones look to blend. Maybe show her some pictures of the look you want. Does the dress you have in mind look as if it is part of the bridal party? There should be a common theme be it accessories or flowers. See this link for some advice about gloves. Most of the dresses I viewed long and short did not show any gloves in the photographs.
