Hypothetical Dream Job for Filipinos: good pay, good benefits --- but ....?
The company's name is PINK LACE and it sells intimate ladies apparel. Being an equal opportunity employer, it is hiring equal number of male and female sales reps. The pay and benefits are excellent. Only requirement: All employees wear pink and will drive a pink car (company-provided).
For females, pink lacey blouse and pink skirt and pink shoes. For males, pink shirt, pink tie and beige pants; brown shoes with pink socks.
My question is: PINOY guys, will you accept the job? Why/why not?
PINAY ladies, how would you feel if your bf/spouse is working for a company like Pink Lace?
I will accept, why not?
An employee represents the company. If the company decides, as part of its identity, to require all employees to wear pink, I don't see any harm there. Besides, you will be clearly identifiable with the company, won't you?
While, you may look a bit stupid or weird, but who cares? You are paid decently, car-provided, equal opportunity employer, would someone still care? I'd rather wear pink, (with even pink briefs on) with a good employer than to wear coat and tie, suffering miserably with an employer.
The bottom line is, it is not the uniform, it is how they treat their employees, at the end.
