How can i make hair barrettes?

I wanna make spongebob hair barrettes but i don't know how ^_^' Can someone inform me of the things i'll need?

In craft shops, they often have stuff for making your own jewelry, including the clip part of barrettes (with no decorations) which you could attach things to. If this is too hard to find, just get a couple of cheap barrettes where the metal clip part is glued to some cheap plastic decorative thing and pop the plastic part off and re-use the clip part. Then you can attach some kind of Sponge Bob-related decoration. Maybe use epoxy or double-stick carpet tape, etc. Make sure it isn't too heavy, or it will be uncomfortable after wearing it for a while.
