how do you bleach bronzed/black feathers?

As a hobby I make hats/fascinators. I have acquired hundreds of stripped coque feathers that are bronze/black. I would like to bleach these and then re-dye can anybody help?

I'm guessing hairdressing bleach would work - do you have a friendly hairdresser who might have a play with one and see what results she could get?
